COVID 19

Updated April 10, 2020

In these unusual times, Alexander’s Mobility Services remains committed to serving our clients and protecting our employees and service delivery teams. To date, our services are considered essential and, as such, it is business as usual.

Am I allowed to move during a “safer at home/stay in place” order in my state?

Yes, moving is considered an essential service and we are happy to help you move. Some metropolitan areas have more specific restrictions and there may be challenges moving you into or out of those areas.

What happens if I want to reschedule my move?

You are welcome to reschedule your move. Your customer service team will assist you in finding dates that work for your schedule.

Can I schedule a move this summer?

Of course. Summer is traditionally the busiest time in moving so we encourage you to schedule your move as soon as possible so we can meet your move scheduling needs.

What happens if my move is in progress and the situation changes in my area?

While the current situation is unique, our customer service teams have decades of experience working with transferring families to meet their moving challenges. Should your situation change in transit, we will work with you to delay the delivery of your shipment, temporarily store your household goods or come up with another solution that better meets your specific needs.

Can we schedule a virtual walk-through to minimize the people in my home?

Absolutely. We have a few options to assist with conducting a ‘social distancing’ survey.

Will the crew be wearing masks and gloves?

Our crews receive daily briefings on CDC and WHO guidelines. They are requested to follow social distancing protocols and practice frequent handwashing. We clean our trucks with a bleach and water solution. Owner operators and crews are requested to wear disposable gloves and masks when such PPE is available.

Are your trucks and facilities clean?

We are cleaning our trucks daily using a bleach and water solution. Access to our facilities is limited to essential staff and we are cleaning these each day as well.

Can I schedule an international move?

Yes. Within the limitations imposed by countries around the world due to the pandemic, we are continuing to provide international moving services.

Can a move happen without physically contacting the crew members?

Yes, both household goods and commercial moves can happen without direct contact with our service delivery crews.

How are you practicing social distancing on the job site?

Our service delivery teams are required to practice social distancing protocols during the course of providing moving services.

Can I still schedule a commercial relocation?

Absolutely. In fact, it is a great time to schedule a commercial move.

Why is this a good time to do an office relocation?

Many office buildings are currently empty as employees work from home during the pandemic. One of the great concerns during a commercial move is lost productivity. When employees are already working from home, productivity is not a concern. There is also no need to schedule an after hours move to accommodate business hours. Work can go on while your move is happening. We offer additional services in many markets such as deep cleaning and disinfecting.

What storage options do I have?

Things are changing quickly and Alexander’s offers both short and long term storage options to meet every need.

Is it safe to do a move now?
While we are doing everything we can to ensure the safety of our customers and our service delivery teams, we cannot provide that type of guarantee. We are following CDC recommendations and regulatory guidelines and doing everything within our power to keep moving safe.

Is Alexanders still accepting orders and providing domestic moving services?

Yes. Even in the “Shelter in Place” cities, we are considered an “essential business” and are able to provide household goods, office moving services and related services. We are continuing to operate as usual while taking all the necessary precautions as advised by the CDC and WHO. Be assured Alexander’s management is closely monitoring the situation and taking appropriate action.

Are we still providing international relocation services?

Yes. Within the regulations imposed by individual countries, we are still providing global relocation services. Our international team members are monitoring the changing situation closely and adjusting as needed.

What about in-home surveys?

Whenever possible, we are utilizing our virtual survey tools to minimize contact and maintain social distancing.
